Resizing Policy

You’ve popped the question and your loved one is in awe of the engagement ring, but there’s just one problem — it doesn’t fit. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t a match.

When planning such a surprise, it can be challenging to find the precise ring size. That’s why here at Bradleys we offer one free ring resize with every purchase. All we ask is that you deliver the ring directly to our store in person or cover the shipping costs and we’ll send the finished product back to you, free of charge. Please ensure to do this within our [enter no. of days]-day returns policy.

Still not quite right? We can make further adjustments at an additional ring resizing cost. Please note that there is also a small charge for a second engraving.

Can Any Ring be Resized?

It’s important that you provide us with a fairly accurate ring size when you first make a purchase, as we are only able to adjust the size by two sizes up or down. If the size needs to be altered more than this, we may require an additional fee as the entire piece may have to be remade.

Please note that it is impossible to resize certain ring styles, including full-band eternity rings and twisted bands — this is something we state on the product page so you are fully aware before you make a purchase with us. If your ring features a bespoke design, one of our designers will notify you of this prior to the creation process.

If you’re unsure about ring size when you first make a purchase, please send us a picture of your partner’s hand. With years of experience of estimating ring sizes, we can use our expertise to make an educated guess.

How Do We Change the Size of a Ring?

To resize a ring, we use a technique called laser welding in favor of the traditional soldering method, as this allows us to obtain cleaner, more clear-cut results. This significantly reduces the damage risks that ring resizing involves, as there is very little heat used in the process and it is more gentle on delicate styles.

The band of a ring is reduced or extended by making a small incision at the back that can be then welded together again once the correct size is established. The finishing touch is a good polish to seamlessly mask any evidence of alteration, leaving your ring in the same beautiful condition as when you first laid eyes on it.
